  How many Remnant are left? Anyone know?

  i was just reading something and got to wondering..does anyone know how many of the remnant are left?

  isn't "the end" supposed to come when they are all gone?.

  and how can they be leading the faithful and discreet slave if they live in our area?

  Self denial for the sake of the WTS?

  as a jw were you really willing to make sacrifices, great and small, for the "truth" or did you feel deep down that it wasn't worth it?

  when did you decidedly say no to being self denying for the sake of the wts?

  Well..I did feel that way..it seems like your family suffers because of it also. I spent many late hours doing housework so I could have my work done for the next day ...so I could pioneer.

  Stayed up late working on talks I had to give..often only getting a few hours sleep. The family had a grouchy woman on their hands.

  And it seemed like someone always needed my help..so I would help them in the daytime..and do my work when everyone was sleeping..

  Nobody could understand why I was always so tired..

  I should have learned the NO word a long time ago...

  As a witness you are taught to always put the other person first though!

  Now I know better..have a more balanced view..and I can say NO!

  The Right To Judge Others

  yesterday our visiting elder-public speaker, cautioned against judging others.

  he made allowance though for elders to judge or analyze the non-elders in the congregation.

  i have always felt that distinctions based on position in the congregation are wrong.

  I always hated it when after you gave a talk they would tell you what you did wrong in front of everyone..how humiliating!

  I really didn't care what they said tho..I was just glad to be off that friggen platform!

  And trust me..the sisters can be worse. They always have their 2 cents to give you after a "Presentation" also...

  Aint's life grand? Some people are just not cut out to speak in public and couldn't care less!..

  As a seasoned banker they would often call on me to do trainer videos for new bankers...I didn't like that either..but had to do it. Part of my job...but now I'm retired!

  I really blew it......I am the nightmare householder!

  i really blew it yesterday.

  we had just gotten home from a very long day and we were contemplating what to do for dinner and then a knock at the door.

  the sister was back with an elder and he asked to speak to my husband...completely got his name wrong.

  WOW!

  You actually talked to a number!..

  You know at first I was thinking along the lines of another poster..they probably feel you could be lying about hubby and they really wanted to talk to them theirselves..but they should realize..this is a grown man. I am sure he knows the way to the Kingdom Hall if he gets the erge!

  (God forbid)

  And since the house is also yours..they have no right to trespass or annoy!

  I think it is possibley a personal thing with these guys..being told what to do by a woman has to be the lowest point in their lives....

  How humiliating for them...gotta love it!!! Makes up for all those years we had to "Be In Subjection to those pompous butts!"

  What a happy day this is!

  HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THROUGH A SCAM?

  while riding home from work today, i noticed a "car for sale" in someones yard.

  it was the same yard that i saw a car for sale in last year, and made me think back to it.. last year around this time, i was kind of looking for a used car or truck to replace the one that was literally falling apart before my eyes, when i noticed this car in a driveway, with a sign on it, saying ....."for sale by owner".. so, i stopped and got out to look at it, and as i approached it, i noticed it had a "dealer" plate on it!.

  i immediately made an about face, and headed for my old truck, and took off.

  Yes! We have one of those "Cars" of the week right up the street. I too noticed a nice car for sale by owner..but noticed he owns a different car every week!

  And he is also on the street that leads to the Assembly hall..so what the heck..

  and asked do you accept the faithful and distreet slave as jehovahs channel on earth (or something similar to that) what would you say/do?.

  i would laugh my ass off and slam the door in their face.

  this really happened to a friend of mine a long time ago.

  What about if we act like we are putting a hex on them?

  Tell them you are able to see the future!

  Say that they will have an unfortunate accident in the near future?

  They will be shaking in their boots for a long time and think twice about coming back!..

  Because they will REALLY believe you. They will probably start praying the minute they hit there car..And they'll always wonder....
